The Core Regions

This is where I live — in the Blue Ridge Mountains north of Asheville, North Carolina — and this is the center of my photography. My core region starts in the Great Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge, then stretches downstate to the Outer Banks, and northward to cover all of the mountains of the two Virginias. I have written and photographed two books on this region, both published by Countryman Press as part of its prestigious Explorer's Guide series. In all, my core collection exceeds ten thousand images.
